As Vivo Capital celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are launching a new philanthropic initiative that expands our commitment to advancing healthcare innovation globally and creating positive impact beyond investing.
We are establishing the Vivo Capital Donor Fund, a dedicated platform for our charitable activities, supported by a contribution from Vivo’s management company. The Fund will support organizations and programs focused on advancing healthcare, scientific innovation, education and community wellbeing. Vivo is also introducing an employee matching program designed to encourage charitable participation and community engagement across our organization.
The new philanthropic initiative builds on our heritage of partnering with entrepreneurs, scientists, physicians and management teams working to develop innovative medicines, technologies and healthcare services that improve patient outcomes globally.
“Over the past 30 years, we have had the privilege of supporting innovators working to address some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges,” said Dr. Frank Kung, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Vivo Capital. “This initiative reflects our desire to give back to the communities and causes that share our commitment to improving human health, while creating new opportunities for our team to make a meaningful impact.”
The spirit behind this initiative was already on display last month, when Vivo employees and their families participated in the National Brain Tumor Society’s Northern California Brain Tumor Walk at the San Francisco Zoo in support of brain tumor research. The event was held in memory of Jack Nielsen, Vivo’s late Managing Partner, whose leadership, dedication and commitment to improving human health continue to inspire the values that guide our organization today.
