Kate Jonas, M.B.A.

Kate Jonas is a Senior Advisor of Investor Relations at Vivo Capital. Kate works with clients and prospects as she helps grow Vivo’s IR presence in North America.

Prior to consulting for Vivo, Kate led the global consultant relations group at Nuveen. Before Nuveen, Kate held multiple leadership roles in BlackRock’s Global Client Group during her 16 year tenure. She co-headed the financial institutions (FIG) group, responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the firm’s insurance and other taxable clients. Kate co-headed BlackRock’s U.S./Canada pension and tax-exempt group and became a team leader for the integrated BlackRock/BGI organization. Kate created and led BlackRock’s first Defined Contribution consultant relations effort. Prior to joining BlackRock, she spent three years as a Client portfolio manager at J.P.Morgan Investment Management where she was responsible for implementing asset allocation within global balanced portfolios, as well as client communications and new business development. Kate started her career at Morgan Stanley, first running global distribution for the MSCI data business and then serving as the product manager for Morgan Stanley Asset Management’s emerging markets equity and fixed income business.

Kate graduated with an A.B. in Government and American Studies from Smith College and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School. She was a Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) executive committee member and the vice-chair of the Retirement Income Committee. She is an Advisory Board member for Behind the Book, a NYC literacy non-profit organization.
